The vision of Education and Drama for Peace is for all young people to have the opportunity to live with dignity, free from conflict and with the opportunity to express themselves and connect with others in peace and humanity.
The mission of Education and Drama for Peace is to provide teacher training to displaced people so they can contribute to their communities through educating their youth; and to use drama as a tool for young people to contribute positively to their communities, to express themselves, deal with trauma positively and to build confidence.
Established in 2014, Education for Peace has trained hundreds of refugee teachers in displaced people’s camps in Sudan and South Sudan. The team provides schooling, sporting activities and creates drama and puppet shows regularly in camps. These activities educate camp communities about health and hygiene, the importance of education and about conflict management and peace-building.
